One in ten people in the world paid a bribe during the year
A report on corruption prepared by Transparency International, 60 thousand based on surveys in 60 countries, today revealed that one in ten people in the world, paid a bribe during the year. Albania, Kosovo and Cameroon are among the first countries where their population commonly used to bribe.
In Latin America, corruption is a persistent phenomenon in Guatemala, Panama, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela, the report presented in Berlin. "Bribery creates serious problems and cause deep wounds in the social fabric, destroying the truth of the institutions and in those who govern for the common good," said Hughette Labelle, chairwoman of Transparency International.
